Trains, Trains, and more Trains

A few friends of mine from our ward decided to go see the Disney Train at the Union Station and invited us along. My kids were so excited. We got there and it was a mad house. I could not believe how many people were there. We went to get in line (which was amazingly long) and the lady working there told us it was about a 2 hour wait. A 2 HOUR WAIT! Are you freaking kidding me.....to see a train..... I didn't even have to wait that long to see the princess at Disneyland. We quickly decided that it was not even remotely worth standing in line with 9 kids under the age of 7 with. So we walked past the train and got our picture with the kids instead and then we went to see and play on the other trains parked at the station. They kids really didn't seem to care and had fun on the trains.

The kids loved climbing on the trains and steering them and trying to look in the windows. After we went over to the fountain and let them play in the water. The kids went home wet, tired and happy. Despite missing the main attraction we had a lot of fun on our little trip to the Union Station.

Family Pics

I forgot to add these pictures we took the night of my Grandparents anniversary to that post, so I am doing them now. All the family's took some pictures since we had everyone there.
All the Reids.
Here are Grandma and Grandpa with all their G-G Babies. 10 in all and one more coming in October. What a handful they can be!
Where it all started. My Grandma and Grandpa, my mom and her two sisters, Cheryl and Jana.

50th Anniversary

In June it was my Grandma and Grandpa Schiffman's 50th wedding anniversary. We had a nice dinner for them at my parents church. It was really nice. We had some great food, and tons of laughs. My cousin did a wonderful slide show of pictures from my Grandparents lives, many I have never seen before. My Grandparents are amazing. I just love them. They are so good to us and are so generous with their cabin and they just love their "G-G Babies" (great-grand children).

I love this picture of my two beautiful girls. I cant help it....look at them, aren't they cute!!?
Here is Devin with Jace. He is such a great uncle. We had a great time with our family. Happy 50th Anniversary Grandma and Grandpa. I hope me and my sweetheart can have such a wonderful evening with family on our 50th, as long as he isn't sick of me by then!

We made it up to the cabin for the first time this summer. As always it was a great time. My family was already up there when we went up on Saturday for the day. We will do the overnight thing when Jace is a little better sleeper. We got up there early. It was a little cool, but we didn't let that stop us from having fun. We rode the 4-wheelers and the Mule"Jenny". Don't ya love Makinleys smile! We saw lots of deer and moose.
Jace and I enjoying the sun and the fresh air. This was his first trip to the cabin. He seemed to really like it so far. He really liked looking at the moose and elk head hanging inside the cabin.
Dennin and my dad playing a little horseshoe. Dennin loves to do anything with games or sports, it just amazes me. He played for along time, and was fine playing it by himself.
Here we are doing our famous biscuts on a stick. Our favorite after dinner treat. Taelor is getting to be a pro at them, and loves that she can do them on her own now. The kids also enjoyed some smores as well. They are always a yummy, messy treat.

Grandma and Grandpa holding Jace. They are so awesome to let us use there beautiful place. We just love the cabin and cant wait for more trips up there.
Tyler is showing Dennin the water trough. This is filled with water and moose and deer come down and drink from it all the time. There is also a salt-lick (behind Ty on the stump) that the animals enjoy as well. This is just above the back porch so we can get up close to the animals. Its great.

Birthday Girl

We finally got to have Makinleys birthday party with out family. She was so excited for presents and cake. She wanted me to make her a flip-flop cake again this year. (the girl loves her flip-flops) She got some great presents and had a lot of fun with her cousins. She is getting so big.

Birthday Times Two

Five years ago today I received the best birthday present ever....my cute, spunky Makinley. It is so fun to share a birthday with her! Makinley turned 5. She is really growing up. Today we just hung out, me and the girls did our nails and had a little girl time while the boys slept. I had a soccer game that night so we didn't plan the usual family party, but will be having it later this weekend. We got just a little cake from the store so Kinners could blow out her candles. She had fun opening her presents. She too got a Leapster like Taelor and a game. She also got a "little pet shop" house, some chalk, bracelets, paper and stickers and some treats. We had a good day and just enjoyed being together. At the soccer game Tyler's parents came (Ty's brother is on my team as well) and they brought cupcakes for all of us, and my mom and brother came with balloons and treats for me. It was very thoughtful of them. We won our game thank goodness, or it might have just spoiled out day!! We will do some more partying this weekend. One day is never enough for us! Happy B-day Kinners. I love you!

Schools Out!

Well another school year has come to a close. Taelor just loved 1st grade. Her teacher Mrs. Bodily was just amazing! Tae really loved her. She even got teary eyed on the last day when she had to say good-bye to her friends and teacher. Poor girl, she is just like me, I always hated when school was over in elementary. Taeler did really well in school. Her favorite thing was probably recess. She does excellent in Math and Reading. She loves to learn and loves the social part of school as well. I cant believe she will be a 2nd grader next year. Makinley will be joining her in the fall. Can you believe it?! I will have two kids in school! Roosevelt Elementary is becoming a chapter 1 school in the fall so they will be offering full day kindergarten. It will be a adjustment for me as well as Makinley. It will just be me and the boys in the house all day. But I will worry about that in the fall.....for now we are off to enjoy summer!!
This is Taelor with her friend Jade. We were not able to round up her other friends, they were too excited that school was out and they took off! (smart kids :)
