Huntin' for Eggs

On Saturday we had our annual Schiffman family gathering which includes a picnic and Easter egg hunt. It was at my moms house this year. Grandma and Grandpa always buy KFC and we bring all the fixings. Our get together is getting bigger each year now that my cousins are having kids as well, which is good because now there is a whole new generation hunting for eggs, and we get to hid them this time. After the picnic the kids hunted for eggs. Each kid is assigned a number. That way everyone gets the same amount of eggs and the same treats. Smart huh, can you tell we have been doing this for a while?! It eliminates the fighting. Then we just hung out and visited for a while. It was alot of fun and the kids had a ball.

Makinley showing me her pink egg she just found. Taelors eggs were hidden the hardest (thanks to Jaxon) because she is the oldest great-grand child. She had fun finding them.

Jace was just as happy as can be outside. He enjoyed the hunt by sitting on Aunt Jodi's lap on Grandmas swing.

Uncle Jesse helped Dennin find his eggs. He was excited to help, and it let me video the kids.

Happy Birthday Mom!

At the end of March was my mothers birthday. My mother is amazing lady and I look up to her. She is a incredible grandmother and my kids just love going to "Grandma Joys" house. My mother is very independent, and that is something that I admire about her. Although sometimes it can get her into trouble....on time she didn't want to wait for my dad to get home to hook up the swamp cooler so she put my little brother down for a nap and climbed up on the roof and did it her self. Well the ladder fell and she got stuck on the roof with a baby who had just woke up inside alone. She yelled for help but no one heard her, she finally got a passing cars attention by whistling. (Another thing she is known for) They helped her get the ladder back up and down from the roof. I love my mom and don't know where I would be without her. For her birthday (which was on Sunday) I cooked her dinner so she wouldn't have too, and we had the family over for cake and ice cream. I don't have too many pictures of just us together, so we took this one. Love ya mom!!
